After dinner comes dessert ♥

Okay so not a typical dessert but since the amount of sugar in this particular beverage might as well make it count as a dessert!

Ladies and gentleman, I present to you, Moroccan mint tea.

Okay you see, this half full glass right here? Might seem very innocent and although extremely tasty, just hearing the amount of sugar in it might cause cavities.

The ingredients and preparations for a teapot of Moroccan mint tee (around 300ml of tea) is:

  • Aprox. 2 to 3 tablespoons of tea-leafs (I use a chinese brand).
  • Without stirring, filter the mixture into a different stainless steel pot, so that the tea leaves and coarse powder are removed.
  • Add mint-leaves (the more you use, the more distinct the taste).
  • Add sugar (about one and a half tablespoon per 100 millilitres).
  • Bring to boil over a medium heat. This important step in the preparation process allows the sugar to undergo hydrolysis, giving the tea its distinctive taste.Add fresh mint leaves to the teapot or directly to the cup.
  • After undergoing all the steps, pour a little sip into a glass to check if it’s to your liking.

And voila! You have made yourself a yummy teapot of Moroccan mint tea!
